Description:This professional position requires general and specific knowledge of physical health, mental health, substance abuse and developmental disabilities. Primary responsibility is to assist the Health Home Director in managing the Project Activities. The job involves the development, coordination, administration and evaluation of project activities. The Project Specialist is expected, through training and experience, to exercise independent judgment with supervision by the Director.
Duties:�Specific areas of program responsibility: Health Home Project.
�Ensure smooth day-to-day operation of program activities and service delivery to clients and agency stakeholders.
�Participate in preparation for external review of services, facilities and implementation of correction plans.
�Assist in grant writing and preparing reports to funding agencies.
�Market services to internal staff, potential clients, local and state organizations, employers and stakeholder organizations.
�Assist in managing program budgets, program expenditures and procurement.
�Review credentials, experience and performance of supervised staff to grant privileges for performing duties of job description at time of hire and annually.
�Research and prepare grant applications to support the organization mission.
�Develop, plan, and present in-service and external training as requested.
�Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
Qualifications:�Knowledge of current theories of contributing factors in and effects of mental illness, substance abuse disorders, developmental disorders and somatic health needs.
�Ability to communicate Way Station's mission and values to the community through frequent interactions with business people, civic groups, other agencies, neighbors, etc.
�Knowledge of current effective approaches being used to assist persons with mental illness and skills in facilitating community integration through work.
�Ability to effectively promote the program to potential consumers, referral sources and purchasers of service.
�Ability to provide leadership.
�Ability to conduct group meetings with clients, staff and significant others to facilitate problem solving.
�Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
�Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
�Skill in time management and organization of job duties.
�Ability to guide effectively the assessment of client service needs and organize appropriate interventions in a wide range of staff and client interactions.
�Ability to assist in the development of budget and implement and monitor necessary systems to maintain budget goals.
�Ability to assist in grant writing and project reporting.
�Knowledge of the rules, regulations and applicable state and federal laws governing the program's operations.
�Possession of a bachelor�s degree in related field.
�Two years or relevant work experience.
�Valid driver's license or alternative transportation plan.
